07/36 Planning Matters

1/E/07/001069 - Change of use to public house and hotel/restaurant, Royal Yeoman, 9 Dorchester Road, Grimstone.
APPLICATION WITHDRAWN

07/37 Highways

a) Footpath 7 Grimstone (Minute 07/14f iii). The Parish Council requested the Local Highway Authority to secure the removal of an obstruction across Footpath 7 Grimstone. Dorset County Council has served Notice on the person responsible requiring him to remove the obstruction by 30th September 2007.

b) Speeding Traffic (Minute 07/18j). A member of the public raised the issue of silent tarmac on the bypass. The Chairman explained that Dorset County Council had arranged funds to carry out areas of extensive patching which is scheduled to commence in October 2007. A debate was held on the benefit of this as opposed to a full structural maintenance scheme.

c) Overhanging Trees (Minute 07/23a).

I) An update was given regarding the situation with overhanging
trees. The Parish Council will attend to the overhanging trees
on the Green which belong to the parish as soon as the leaves
have fallen. Previous attempts have been hindered by the
inclement weather.

ii) A site meeting was arranged on 24th July 2007 between Cllr
P Bowler, West Dorset District Council's Landscape Officer and
the owner of 2 The Rise to examine the trees belonging to the residence alongside the highway. As these trees are privately owned action has been taken by the resident.
