b) The final accounts for the year 2007/2008 were reported on by the Chairman and the end of year position confirmed. The accounts for 2007/08 were accepted by the Council and formally adopted as a correct and proper record of financial activities in 2007/2008.
08/10 Crime Prevention - PCSO Sarah Pilcher reminded the Council to be aware of bogus callers and to take the registration numbers of cars as this is helpful. Garden sheds should be locked andvaluables removed from cars when leaving.
08/11 Planning Matters
a) 1/d/08/000132 - Retention of double garage and perimeter fence, 48 Dorchester Road, Stratton. RETROSPECTIVE APPLICATIONREFUSED.
08/12 Highways - Nothing to report.
08/13 General Maintenance
a) Existing 'bus shelter - It was reported that there is a dip in the road alongside the 'bus shelter which becomes flooded. Clerk to inspect. AN
b) Calor Gas Dorset Village of the Year Competition (Minute 07/77a). Cllr T Hughes said that an application has been accepted and requested residents to be aware of this and to ask them to maintain their street frontages.
08/14 Correspondence
a) Councillors were informed that an amount of correspondence was about to be circulated.
08/15 Date of next Meeting - The date of the next Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15 July 2008 at 7.30 pm.
08/16 Any other business.
a) Allotments - There have been sixteen requests from residents regarding the provision of allotments. Chairman advised that discussion is taking place. Mr C Jackson to ask interested people to write to the Parish Council.
b) Cllr R Protheroe suggested that with the forthcoming Olympics could the Village Hall be involved as a media centre or some similar type venue. Clerk to pass this to the Village Hall Committee. AN
c) Concern was expressed regarding the unfinished state of No 1 Dorchester Road. Residents are complaining about the appearance. As building has taken considerable time and is still unfinished Clerk to contact West Dorset District Council's Enforcement Officer. AN
d) A resident raised the problem of parked vehicles on pavements and inconsiderate parking at the junction of The Rise and Magiston Street. PCSO Sarah Pilcher to inspect.
08/17 Democratic Period in which members of the public may speak or ask questions. No questions were asked.
